What are the different types of Australia Parent Visa?

1. Parent Visa (Subclass 103)

2. Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173)

You can apply for this visa outside Australia and stay up to 2 years in Australia as a temporary resident.  For the purpose, you must have a child who is settled in Australia,and you are ready to pay high visa application charges to enable faster visa processing. The Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173) category of this Australia Parent visa asks to fulfil certain eligibility requirements like:

  • “Balance-of-family” test criteria.
  • Have a sponsor.
  • Meet health and character requirements.

3. Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143)

This visa allows you to apply for a permanent Australian residency either inside or outside Australia. However, to qualify, you must have a child who lives in Australia,andyou are willing to pay high visa application charges for quick processing. The other eligibility criteria that you are required to meet for the Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143) are:

  • You must have a sponsor
  • You must have an Assurance of Support.
  • You  meet “Balance of family” test criteria
  • You comply with the health and character requirements.

Due to the high demand, the processing time for this Australia Parent visa varies and depends much on the planning levels fixed in the Migration Programme.

In case you are a Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173) and want to live in Australia indefinitely, you can apply for the Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143). Nevertheless, you can do so before your temporary visa expires.
 

4. Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804)

You can apply for this visa inside Australia if you want to stay in Australia permanently and you satisfy the age requirements. However, you must also be a parent of a child who is settled in Australia. The Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804) also wants you to satisfy other requirements like:

5. Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884)

Here if you satisfy the age requirements and can pay higher visa application processing fee, you can stay up to 2 years in Australia as a temporary resident.  The Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884) also requires you to meet the following:

  • Have a sponsor.

The volume of applications received for this type of Australia Parent visa is quite low and therefore, the processing time for this is unavailable. However, if you are granted a visa, you can apply for a permanent residency through the subclass 864 visa. This will enable you to divide the total visa application costs across the two visas the Temporary visa (Subclass 884) and Permanent visa (Subclass 864). In case you want to choose (Subclass 804) visa for less cost, you can do so.
 

6. Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864)

You can apply for the Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864) in Australia if you are a parent to a child who stays in Australia, you satisfy the age requirements, and you are ready to pay high visa application processing fee. This Australia Parent visa also asks for the following:

  • Meet the “Balance-of-family” test criteria.
  • Comply with health and character requirements.
  • Have a sponsor.
  • Obtain “Assurance of Support”.

Given the low volume of applications received, this Australia Parent visa takes a long time for the processing of applications.

If you want to stay in Australia as a permanent or temporary resident,you need to have a sponsor to apply for an Australia Parent visa. For the purpose, the sponsor must:

  • Be an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
  • Be 18-year old or more.
  • Have lived in Australia legally for a minimum of two years before the parent submits the visa application.

A legal commitment offering financial support from an individual or organisation to a parent who can apply for the Australia parent visa, the Assurance of Supportenables you and your family members included in the application to live in Australia without relying on social security payments.

Australia Spouse Partner Visa Immigration

The Australia Partner visa when granted permits you to live in Australia as a temporary or permanent resident. There are different types of Partner visa and they vary based on your circumstances. If you want to determine your eligibility for any category of Australia Partner visa, you must:

  1. Be married to a person who is an Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen and have a commitment to a shared life.

  2. Have a fiancée relationship with an Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen.

  3. Be in a de facto partner relationship with an Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen. For the purpose, the person should not be a relative but live with you permanently.

Applying in Australia

 

Australia Spouse Partner Visa

 

Situation 1: Where you are married to or in de facto relationship with an Australian permanent citizen, Australian citizen, or eligible New Zealand citizen and are applying for a Partner visa in Australia, then you can choose the Australia Onshore Partner visa subclasses 820 and 801. However, you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You must be 18 years or older and married to or in a de facto partner relationship with an Australian permanent citizen, Australian citizen, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

  • Your partner must be your sponsor.

  • You must satisfy certain health and character requirements.

Applying outside Australia

Situation 2: You are a spouse or de facto partner of an Australian permanent citizen, Australian citizen, or eligible New Zealand citizen, who is applying for a visa outside Australia. You have an intention to marry your partner before a decision has arrived on your visa application. In this case, you can apply for the Australia Offshore Partner Visa Subclass 309 100 by meeting the following eligibility criteria:

  • You must be 18 years or older and are married to or in a de facto partner relationship with an Australian permanent citizen, Australian citizen, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

  • Your partner must be a sponsor.

  • You comply with the health and character requirements

Situation 3: Where you have an intention to go to Australia and marry an Australian permanent citizen, Australian citizen, or eligible New Zealand citizen after the grant of visa and you are applying for a visa outside Australia, then you can choose the Prospective Marriage visa (Subclass 300) on meeting the following criteria:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • Your prospective spouse must sponsor you.

  • You and your prospective spouse have met and known each other since both of you turned 18 years old.

  • Both of you have the intention to marry within nine months of the grant of visa and live together.

  • You are not married to anyone during the time of the decision made on your visa application.

Australia Partner Visa is a Two-Stage Process

The Australia Partner visa is a two-stage process for you need to obtain the temporary partner visa before the permanent visa is granted. Nevertheless, you can apply for both permanent and temporary visa at a time by paying one fee in both the subclasses of visa like 309/100 and 820/801. You are entitled to be evaluated for the permanent partner visa once you are granted the temporary visa. However, it is possible only after two years of lodging the visa application.
