Here are the results of Canada’s most recent Express Entry draw on March 1, 2023.
This afternoon, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 667 invites to Canadian permanent residence applicants in the third Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) exclusive draw of 2023.
Note: Prior to yesterday, IRCC also conducted PNP-only draws on February 1 and February 15.
Today’s draw saw IRCC issue invitations to PNP candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 748, down 43 points from the last PNP-only draw that took place two weeks ago (minimum CRS score of 791).
Candidates still in the Express Entry pool can expect another draw in around two weeks.
About Express Entry
Express Entry is the top immigration pathway of the Canadian federal government. IRCC, the country’s immigration department. uses Express Entry to invite foreign skilled workers to Canada from around the world. This is accomplished by offering permanent residence (PR) to interested foreign nationals.
To be selected during an Express Entry draw, interested foreign skilled workers must first ensure that they are eligible for the CEC, the FSWP or the FSTP – the three programs that are overseen under the Express Entry system. After an interested foreign national confirms their eligibility, candidates move forward on their Express Entry journey by submitting an electronic profile through IRCC’s website. At this time, candidates can also review their CRS score.
After submitting an online profile and entering the Express Entry pool, candidates must wait for IRCC to conduct their Express Entry draws. These draws will invite Express Entry candidates who have a high-enough CRS score (above the cut-off CRS score for that particular draw) to apply for PR in Canada. Only now can these candidates actually apply for Canadian PR, because this is when IRCC will issue them an Invitation to Apply (ITA). In other words, ITAs can be considered the “key” to permanent residence in Canada through Express Entry.
Beginning from the exact day they receive their invitation, ITA recipients will have 60 days to go online and submit their electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) to IRCC.
