Canada Express Entry – Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)

Main objective of the Canada Express Entry is to give the control over the selection of prospective migrants under skilled workers category to Canadian Government through CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada).

To achieve the above given objective, a system where the applicants interested in Canada Immigration are ranked against each other, using a set of parameters. The tool containing these parameters, ranking and selection is called the Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS).

The main parameters of the Canada Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) are as follows:

  1. Parameters related to Core human capital;

  2. Parameters related to accompanying spouse or common-law partner;

  3. Parameters related to Skill transferability;

  4. Parameters relating to a provincial nomination or a qualifying job offer of arranged employment.

Total number of points available under the Canada Express Entry CRS are 1,200.

Break up of points under Canada Express Entry CRS is as follows:

  • Core human Capital: Maximum 500 points.

  • Skill transferability: Maximum 100 points.

  • With a valid Canadian job offer: Maximum 200 points.

  • Provincial nomination offer: Maximum 600 points available.

When an applicant is filing the application with an accompanying spouse or common-law partner, the break-up of points under Canada Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is as follows:

  • Core human Capital of Principal Applicant: Maximum 460 points.

  • Core human Capital of Spouse: Maximum 40 points.

  • Skill transferability: Maximum 100 points.

  • Provincial nomination offer 600 points.
